Description

The story of Tobit and Sara is a classic Old Testament drama only the Bible could produce.  Their wedding prayer is a traditional first reading at many weddings.  Original artwork by Amie Kieffer.  The scene is Tobit and Sara on their wedding night as they light the fish, as directed by the Archangel Rapheal, to ward off the demon who has been plaguing Sara.  As in, the demon killed her previous 7 husbands on their wedding nights!  The salutation inside is taken from the words of Sara's parents as she prepares for the wedding.  "May God grant you joy in your new life together.  Live in confidence that you were destined for one another from all eternity.  With God as your help. you will bear fruit that will last."  The back of the card includes the text from the Book of Tobit 8:1-8 which describes the scene and includes the prayer "Blessed are you, O God of our fathers; praised be your name forever and ever.  Let the heavens and all your creation praise you forever.  You made Adam and you gave him his wife Eve to be his help and support; and from these two the human race descended.  You said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone; let us make him a partner like himself.'  Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not becasue of lust, but for a novle purpose.  Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age."  And Sara said with him, "Amen."  Luxurious lavender envelope included with a hint of glimmer to match this gorgeous AK watercolor.
